This year is actually starting to fly along, can’t believe it’s Valentines Day next week. I’m not that big on Valentines if I’m honest, preferring to do a nice home cooked meal and maybe something small but thoughtful as a gift but I know a lot of people are on the hunt for gift ideas so as always here are a few for you:
Benecos nail polish. This is a really gorgeous set of reds perfect for the day of love. I can sense I’m going to be sharing my set with my youngest who is far more into make up and nails than I’ll ever be but I think I’ll be rocking a vibrant red by next week!
Max Spielmann – maybe you want a more personal gift? Well there are many from prints to mugs and cushions over on Max Spielmann. I love these origami bird mugs:
Play in Choc – most of us have hankering for some kind of chocolate and play in Choc have beautiful treats suitable for anyone with allergies. These Peruvian cacao dark chocolates are delicious!
Get Baked – now before I start I should warn you that it is almost impossible to get a slice of Bruce these days but I had a few pieces for my 40th birthday back in May and if you can get a slice in the lead up to the big day I highly recommend it. The Valentine special version sold out in seconds but you can log on each day at 10am and try to get a slice around the date!
Porky Punk annual – I am yet to treat myself to the Porky Punk annual but I will be doing it sometime soon I promise. I have heard so many good things about this book and I love being part of the Porky Punk Facebook group which is full of like minded food lovers.
Caru Spirits – could you get a more romantic sounding liqueur? Caru is Welsh for LOVE. Caru is a smooth British brandy liqueur which has a sweet seductive aroma of brandied raisins, vanilla and fresh orange.
Calvet Crémant de Bordeaux Brut Rosé is a perfectly pink bubbly. Hints of strawberry, biscuity notes, fine bubbles and a rounded finish. At a fraction of the price of a bottle of Champagne it’s a bit of a bargain too. Pair with strawberries and perhaps a little chantilly cream? £12 at Morrisons currently.
Nozeco is the zero alcohol bubbly which is perfect for pregnant women, those who are continuing a dry start to the year or those who do not like or wish to consume alcohol for whatever reason that may be. It is also vegan. It’s just £3.50 at nearly all of the major supermarkets.
And one of my absolute favourite brands Joe and Sephs. They always have the best selection of indulgent treats which are perfect for Valentines. I am especially excited about the new truffles as well as the collaboration with Manilife ( who make seriously good peanut butter without any nasties added in):
