Nutella Mug Cake

December 13, 2013 · by munchiesandmunchkins · Leave a Comment

I remember being extremely sceptical about mug cakes. I tried a few recipes I found online and they were dry or stodgy ..I almost gave up and then I found the answer – Nutella – of course, the answer is always Nutella. This Nutella Mug Cake is so good, so easy and literally takes

I don’t really get much chance to bake at the moment with a newborn and toddler to look after but hey we all still need cake. Especially me.. Ha well I am breastfeeding you know – I need the calories.

Nutella Mug Cake

You will need:

1 large mug
2tbsp Self raising flour
2tbsp Sugar
1 Egg
1&1/2tbsp Cocoa powder
1&1/2tbsp Nutella
1&1/2tbsp Milk
1&1/2tbsp Vegetable oil

Combine all ingredients in your mug and whisk well with a fork until smooth. Microwave on high for 1&1/2 – 3 minutes (times depend in your microwave)
You could top your mug cake with whipped cream, frosting or icing if desired but its totally delicious on its own.

On my most recent attempt at making this I added a teaspoon of toasted marshmallow to the top of the mug cake immediately after removing from microwave which melted into a gooey mess – definitely a great addition.
