5 Red Foods to Brighten Your Plate and Their Surprising Health Benefits

May 21, 2024 · by munchiesandmunchkins · Leave a Comment

Bright colours on your plate not only make a meal more visually appealing but can also enhance your health in numerous ways. Red foods, in particular, are packed with nutrients that can boost your immune system, protect your heart, and much more.

From the sweet juiciness of strawberries to the robust flavour of beets, each red food brings its unique set of benefits and adds a splash of colour to your daily meals. So, let’s explore some of the top red foods that you should consider adding to your plate for their fantastic health benefits.

Tomatoes – A Versatile Superfood for Every Meal

Tomatoes are a staple in kitchens around the world, beloved not only for their versatility but also for their health benefits. Rich in vitamins C and K, they are excellent for your skin and blood health. Whether you enjoy them fresh in salads, cooked into sauces, or as a juice, tomatoes provide essential nutrients that support overall health.

Their colour is thanks to high levels of lycopene, an antioxidant known to reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers. Your meals can gain a nutritional boost simply by including more tomatoes. They are incredibly adaptable, fitting perfectly into various dishes, from breakfast eggs to a hearty evening stew.

Red Peppers – Bursting with Flavour and Vitamins

Red peppers are vibrant ingredients that pack a punch in terms of both flavour and nutritional value. They are excellent sources of vitamin A, which is essential for eye health, and vitamin C, which is vital for your immune system. Including red peppers in your diet can help maintain your skin’s health and contribute to collagen production.

Their bright red colour enhances any dish, making it more appealing and satisfying. Adding red peppers to your dishes not only spices up your meals but also brings a wealth of health benefits. You can enjoy them raw as a crunchy snack, roasted to bring out their natural sweetness, or stir-fried in your favourite dishes.

Beetroot – The Heart-Healthy Choice

Beetroot is often noted for its deep, vivid red colour and their impressive list of health benefits. They contain nitrates known to lower blood pressure and enhance athletic performance. Regular consumption of beetroots can boost your stamina and improve blood flow throughout your body, supporting a healthy heart.

Their earthy taste and rich texture make them a popular choice for salads, juices, and even desserts. Your heart will thank you for including beetroots in your diet. They also have detoxifying properties, thanks to the betalains they contain, which help protect your liver from toxins. Whether you prefer them roasted to caramelise their natural sugars or juiced for a quick nutritional boost, beetroots are a powerful addition to your meal plan.

Strawberries – Sweet, Nutritious, and Delightfully Red

Strawberries are a favourite for their sweet flavour and bright red colour, making them a delightful addition to any meal or as a snack on their own. These berries are loaded with vitamin C, manganese, and essential antioxidants that help fight oxidative stress and inflammation in your body.

Enjoying a serving of strawberries can significantly contribute to your daily fruit intake, helping you maintain a balanced diet. Your dessert dishes can be transformed with the simple addition of strawberries, offering a natural sweetness that reduces the need for added sugars.

Raspberries – Tiny Berries with Big Health Benefits

Raspberries are small fruits that pack a substantial nutritional punch. They are an excellent source of dietary fibre, vitamins, and minerals, particularly vitamin C and manganese. These nutrients are crucial for maintaining healthy skin, bones, and a robust immune system.

Raspberries’ deep, rich colour and juicy flavour make them a popular choice for a healthy diet. Adding raspberries to your daily meals can elevate the nutritional value of your food while infusing it with flavour. Whether you sprinkle them over your breakfast cereal, blend them into a smoothie, or simply enjoy them fresh, raspberries offer a versatile and delicious way to enhance your health.

What Does Red Say About Our Food Choices?

The colour red has always held significant cultural importance, symbolising everything from passion and danger to celebration and warning. In culinary contexts, red often invites excitement and appetite, influencing your dining choices more than you might realise.

It’s fascinating how different cultures have harnessed the power of red to attract or deter attention in their food presentation and choices. In many cultures, red is a colour that not only decorates but also communicates. The red colour code can tell you a lot about a dish before you even taste it. For example, red in some foods can indicate ripeness and sweetness, ideal for enticing the senses.

Embracing red foods in your diet can offer a multitude of benefits that extend beyond just tantalising your taste buds. Their natural pigments are not only visually appealing but are indicative of the rich nutrients each offers. Culinary adventures can be both nutritious and delightful when you incorporate these colourful options, enriching your body with essential vitamins and antioxidants. Why not make your next meal a canvas of red hues and reap the delicious, healthful rewards?

Boring Stuff You Can’t Overlook When Buying A House

April 17, 2024 · by munchiesandmunchkins · Leave a Comment

Pexels. CCO Licensed.

There are lots of exciting stages to buying a house. However, there are a few important mundane tasks involved in the homebuying process too. It’s important that you don’t overlook these tasks, as not carrying them out in time could have severe negative consequences. Below are a few of the essential boring tasks you shouldn’t overlook.

Skipping the survey

Paying for a home survey isn’t mandatory, but it’s highly recommended. This involves paying a licensed surveyor to inspect the condition of the building before you commit to a purchase. A home survey is important for making sure that there are no hidden major repairs needed like foundation repairs or a new roof. A survey could also help to check that there are no major planning restrictions or natural disaster risks (such as flood risks).

Forgetting the legal paperwork

A lot of legal paperwork needs to be carried out when buying a house to make sure that ownership rights are fully transferred from the previous owner to you. This is not something a regular person can carry out, so you’ll need to hire a licensed conveyor. There are many law firms such as Beyond Law that can handle conveyancing. You should hire a conveyancer as soon as you’ve settled on a property (or if you’re about to work with an agent to help sell your previous property). Failing to do so could result in the sale falling through.

Not saving for all the hidden costs

A lot of first time homebuyers focus solely on the deposit. But there are many other costs that need to be accounted for too such as legal fees, mortgage valuation fees and closing fees. It’s important that you can afford all of these fees – you don’t want a mortgage to be rejected at the last moment because you can’t afford one of these extra fees. This page at HomeOwners Alliance delves into some of the hidden costs.

Overlooking energy efficiency

When making sure that a property is right for you, check that there is a recent energy report available. This can help you to understand how energy efficient a home is, so that you’re not spending too much money on energy bills. Good insulation or solar panels are perks to look out for. It is the duty of the seller to arrange an EPC before putting a property on the market and they should be able to readily show you the report.

Packing last minute

While you may be able to pack last minute for a holiday, you cannot pack last minute for a house move. If you’ve hired a moving company for a certain date or new occupants need to move in, it’s essential that you’re ready on time. Packing early could stop any delays, but can also have many other advantages. By starting several weeks in advance, you can thoroughly sort through items and donate/sell anything you don’t need instead of taking it with you to your new property. You can also organise boxes more efficiently – including buying specialist packaging supplies for fragile items.

5 Great Ways To Surprise Your Partner With

April 12, 2024 · by munchiesandmunchkins · 1 Comment

Image Credit: Everton Vila from Unsplash.

When you first get with your partner, everything will be new and exciting. After a while, however, you could feel like things are getting relatively stale. While they mightn’t exactly be boring, it might seem like you’re doing the same things over and over.

If that happens, it’s time for a change. That doesn’t mean looking for someone else. Instead, you’ll need to surprise your partner.

There are more than a few reasons why you should consider it. It keeps things feeling fresh, and it can even help you feel closer together. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t go out of your way to surprise them.

You shouldn’t need to spend a lot of time and effort on this, and it doesn’t have to be complicated. The small things could be more than enough, with some gifts being a great way of doing this. They’ll be more than enough to surprise your partner.

It’s worth diving into some of the best ways to do this.

Why Surprise Your Partner?

Before diving in, it’s worth looking at why you should surprise your partner in the first place. The fact you love them and want to make them happy should be more than enough to do this. It also offers more than a few benefits, and there’s no reason not to at least consider it.

Some of the more notable of these are:

  • It’ll help bring the two of you closer together
  • It’ll make them happier and they’ll appreciate the effort you put into it
  • It shows them you love them and that you were thinking about them
  • It’s a great way of showing them that you care about them

These are all more than enough to get you to surprise your partner, not that you need a reason in the first place. It’s a great way to make them happy, and that should be more than enough to do it.

Thankfully, doing this doesn’t need to be too complicated. All it takes is a little bit of time and effort, and you shouldn’t have much to worry about. Five strategies could be more than worth trying.

Not only are they relatively easy to do, but they should make your partner quite happy.

Surprise Your Partner: 5 Ways To Try

1. Get Them Something Personalised

Quite a few people love having personalised items, and this can often be worth focusing on when you’re getting something for your partner. It shows them you put a little time and effort to make sure the gift is uniquely for them. There are more than a few ways you can do this.

Personalised whisky can be one of the more notable, but there are plenty of other options to go for. Keep your partner’s interests in mind when you’re doing this, and you shouldn’t have much to worry about. You’ll have quite a nice surprise for them.

2. Give Them A Promise Ring

When most people think of giving their partner a ring, they usually assume it’s an engagement ring. This is far from the only kind of ring you can get, however. Promise rings have long been popular to help couples feel closer together without actually getting engaged.

Some married couples even get these for each other well after they get married. The trick to this is to actually have some kind of promise associated with it. The ring itself will surprise them, but it’s the intention behind it that really matters and that they’ll love.

3. Invest In An Experience

When you want to surprise your partner, you don’t always have to go for some kind of gift. Instead, an experience can be much more appealing, because it lets you spend some much-needed time together. It’ll give you time together to relax and have fun while getting closer together.

An experience will surprise them in the best way possible, especially when you go for the right kind of surprise. A spa day, weekend away, and similar options will be some of the more obvious ways to do this. There’s no reason not to take some time to do it.

4. Have Some Surprise Couple Time

Quite a few couples don’t spend as much time together as they should, and this is always worth addressing. Investing in an experience to do with them, as mentioned above, can be a great way to do this, but it’s far from the only way you can go about it. Sometimes, it could be much simpler.

Even just taking some time off when you know they have a day off and spending the time together can be worth it. Take the time to just be with them, and that could be more than enough to make the relationship better and surprise them.

5. Handwrite Them A Love Letter

Sometimes, it’s worth going out of your way to show your partner how much you love them. That doesn’t always have to mean you have to do something big and grand or buy them something expensive. The smaller things can make much more of a difference than you’d think.

Handwriting them a love letter could be more than enough. It puts your feelings out there while being quite romantic. You don’t even need to be the best writer to do this, as long as you’re being honest with your feelings. Having this waiting for them when they get home can be a nice surprise.

Surprise Your Partner: Wrapping Up

When you surprise your partner, you make them happier and help to bring the two of you closer together. It adds more than a few benefits to the relationship, and helps to keep it feeling fresh. There’s no reason not to put some effort on it.

There are quite a few ways to surprise your partner, some of which are better recommended than others. They shouldn’t have to take much time or effort, despite how much of an impact they’ll have. You’ve no excuse not to go out of your way to do it.

Key Benefits Of Lean To Greenhouses For Smaller Gardens

April 6, 2024 · by munchiesandmunchkins · 1 Comment

If you’ve got a smaller garden and are thinking about ways to dip your toes into the world of gardening without committing to a large-scale operation, lean-to greenhouses might just be what you’re looking for. These compact structures are perfect for backyards of any size, providing a cosy nook for your plants to thrive in all year round.

Space Efficiency

One of the standout features of lean-to greenhouses is their incredible space-saving design. These greenhouses are built to lean against an existing structure, like the side of your house, which means they take up far less room than their free-standing counterparts. This setup is particularly beneficial for those with limited garden space, as it allows you to maximise your growing area without sacrificing valuable outdoor living space.

This compactness doesn’t just save space; it also enhances the microclimate around your plants. The wall the greenhouse leans against absorbs heat during the day and releases it slowly overnight, providing a stable environment that can boost plant growth.

Cost-effectiveness

Lean-to greenhouses are also kind on your wallet. Because they require fewer materials for construction and take up less space, they are generally less expensive than traditional greenhouses. This cost-saving extends to heating expenses as well. The shared wall with your home acts as an additional insulation layer, reducing the need for artificial heating sources during the cooler months. The ease of access means you’re likely to spend more time with your plants, catching issues like pests or diseases early.

High Quality

When selecting a greenhouse, opting for high-quality lean-to greenhouses is crucial. These structures are designed to withstand the unpredictable British weather, ensuring your plants are protected year-round. High-quality materials and construction mean your greenhouse will last for years, providing a durable, long-term solution for your gardening needs. Investing in a high-quality model saves you money in the long run, as you won’t need to replace it as frequently as a cheaper, less durable option.

Versatility

Lean-to greenhouses are incredibly versatile, allowing you to grow a wide variety of plants that might not otherwise thrive in the British climate. From exotic fruits and vegetables to beautiful blooms that require a little more warmth, your lean-to can create the perfect environment for plants that need that extra bit of care.

They’re not just for plants, either. These greenhouses can double as a serene retreat in your garden, a place where you can enjoy a bit of greenery and sunlight even on the chilliest days. Whether you’re propagating seedlings or just enjoying a cup of tea surrounded by your plants, the flexibility of a lean-to greenhouse adds a new dimension to your garden.

Aesthetic Appeal

Adding a lean-to greenhouse to your garden is not just practical; it can also enhance the aesthetic appeal of your outdoor space. These structures come in a range of styles and materials, allowing you to choose one that complements your home and garden design. A well-chosen lean-to greenhouse can act as a visual extension of your home, blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces and creating a harmonious flow that elevates the overall look of your property.

Conclusion

Lean-to greenhouses offer a smart, efficient way to make the most of smaller gardens, providing numerous benefits from space efficiency and cost-effectiveness to aesthetic appeal. Whether you’re looking to extend your growing season, save on costs, or simply add a beautiful and functional feature to your garden, a lean-to greenhouse is worth considering.

Create A Cosy Reading Nook For Your Little One With These Top Tips

April 6, 2024 · by munchiesandmunchkins · 1 Comment

Reading stories can transport us to different worlds and take us on exciting adventures. Books can spark imagination, fuel curiosity, and nurture a love for literature in young minds. Growing up, many of us will likely have cherished experiences escaping to other worlds written within the pages of our most beloved books.

As we have expanded our family and welcomed children into the world, many of us parents want our children to experience the same joys we had when reading books. What better way than creating a reading nook where you can encourage your little one to go on this magical journey of exploration and discovery?

Choosing The Perfect Spot

Finding the perfect spot is quintessential for creating a cosy reading nook. As you scout out your house for the ideal spot, try thinking like a child. Look for a place that’s naturally peaceful, bathed in soft, natural light, with a view of the garden or a comfy corner in their room. This spot should feel a world away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, offering a little sanctuary where imaginations can run wild.

Essential Elements Of A Cosy Reading Space

At the heart of a cosy nook is, well, of course, the cosiness! A plush armchair, a nest of fluffy pillows, or even a soft rug can transform any corner into a cuddle-worthy reading retreat. Lighting is your next best friend here—think fairy lights for a sprinkle of magic or a gentle reading lamp to keep the stories going as the daylight fades.

Another great way to ensure plenty of light is to use a nook that includes a window, so you can enjoy natural light throughout the day. You can make it look more intentional with custom cushions designed to fit your window space precisely. This would be perfect for turning a small corner with a window into a cosy, bespoke reading nook, especially when you’re worried that an armchair might make it feel too cramped.

Incorporating Fun And Educational Décor

Who says learning can’t be part of the décor? Bright, cheerful posters of far-off galaxies, deep-sea creatures, or the ABCs can turn your nook into a mini classroom that captivates and educates. Decorate the wall with bright, educational prints, and have them framed in an A1 picture frame. Changeable decorations like wall stickers let your child’s reading nook grow with their interests, keeping that spark of curiosity alive.

Making The Space Adaptable And Grow With Your Child

Kids grow up fast, and their tastes change even faster. As such, look for adjustable bookshelves and furnishings that can evolve with them. When they get older, invite your child to help redecorate or choose new themes that make the nook feel truly theirs, a little place of their own in a big world.

Personalising The Nook For Your Little One

This nook is more than just a reading space; it reflects your child’s imagination. Let them pick out a few decorations or decide on a theme, whether they’re into pirates, princesses, or planets. This personal touch turns the nook into a cherished space, encouraging them to spend time reading and dreaming.

Embracing A Reading Routine

Setting aside a special time for stories helps make reading a beloved part of your child’s day. It doesn’t have to be strict; what matters is creating joyful memories around reading. This routine builds a foundation for a lifetime of reading, one snuggly story at a time.

Creating a reading nook for your child is a gift that keeps giving, offering a haven for them to explore, dream, and grow. It’s about more than just books; it’s about nurturing a space where their imagination can flourish. With these steps, you’re not just setting up a corner of your home but opening the door to endless adventures and possibilities.

Navigating Online Learning: Tips For Parents Helping Their Children In Exam Season

March 28, 2024 · by munchiesandmunchkins · 1 Comment

Navigating the world of online learning, particularly during exam season, can seem daunting for parents and students. However, with the right strategies and mindset, parents can play a pivotal role in guiding their children through this challenging period. The digital classroom brings unique challenges and offers new opportunities for learning and growth.

Keep reading as we provide parents with practical tips to support their children effectively during exam season, ensuring a smooth and successful online learning experience.

Creating An Effective Study Space At Home

An organised and quiet study area is critical for concentration and effective learning. Work with your child to identify a space free from distractions, comfortable, and well-lit. This space should have all the necessary supplies and technology they need. A dedicated study area not only helps reduce procrastination but also signals to their brain that it’s time to focus, mimicking the structure of a classroom setting.

Establishing A Structured Study Routine

Structure and routine are key components of successful online learning. Collaborate with your child to develop a study schedule that includes regular breaks and is realistic. A structured routine not only aids in time management but also helps keep stress and anxiety at bay. Encourage your child to stick to this routine, making adjustments as necessary to accommodate their natural productivity cycles.

Leveraging Online Resources For Exam Preparation

Navigating the wealth of online educational resources can transform exam preparation from daunting to manageable. As parents, guiding your child to reputable sources for study materials is crucial. For instance, if your child is gearing up for IGCSE exams, directing them towards specific questions can be incredibly beneficial. Save My Exams has a range of IGCSE exam questions to help your child prepare. These resources deepen their understanding of subjects and acclimate them to the format and nuances of the actual exams. Incorporate a mix of revision guides, past papers, and instructional videos into their study routine.

Encouraging Effective Time Management

Time management is a critical skill, especially during exam season. Help your child prioritise their subjects and allocate time accordingly, with more challenging topics receiving extra attention. Introduce them to tools and apps that can help manage their study schedule, reminding them of deadlines and helping them keep track of their progress.

Fostering Self-Motivation And Resilience

Online learning and exam preparation require a significant amount of self-motivation and resilience. Encourage your child by setting achievable goals and celebrating milestones, no matter how small. Teach them that setbacks are part of the learning process, and that persistence is key. Your belief in their abilities can be a powerful motivator.

Supporting Mental And Physical Well-Being

It’s important to remind your child that their well-being is just as important as their academic success. Encourage regular physical activity, healthy eating, and sufficient sleep as part of their daily routine. Be there to listen and offer support, ensuring they know it’s okay to take breaks and recharge when needed.

Navigating online learning during exam season is a joint effort that requires patience, understanding, and active support from parents. Together, you can turn the challenges of online learning into opportunities for growth, ensuring your child is well-prepared to face their exams with confidence.

Moving House? Here’s Some Tips To Help Make the Process Easier

March 28, 2024 · by munchiesandmunchkins · Leave a Comment

Moving house is often considered one of life’s most stressful events. From packing up your belongings to dealing with utilities and changing your address, the list of tasks can seem endless. However, with the right preparation and tips, the process can be made much smoother. Whether you’re relocating within the UK or moving further afield, here are some practical tips to help ease the transition.

Choose the Right Removal Company

Hiring a reputable removal company can make a significant difference to your moving experience. Look for firms with positive reviews and ensure they offer the right level of service for your needs, whether that’s a full packing service or just transportation. It’s also wise to get quotes from several companies to ensure you’re getting a competitive price. Investing in storage can be a great idea when moving house to help you sort through your belongings and make the moving process less cluttered and stressful. Now Storage offers self storage in Cardiff with high-security measures to help ensure your possessions are kept safe. These self storage units are perfect if you are downsizing and find yourself pinched for time to organise belongings in time for your moving date or if your moving dates have been delayed.

Start Early

The key to a stress-free move is preparation. Begin by decluttering your home; this is the perfect opportunity to get rid of items you no longer need or use. Once you’ve streamlined your possessions, start packing non-essential items early. Books, out-of-season clothing, and rarely-used kitchenware can all be packed weeks in advance. Label boxes clearly with their contents and the room they belong in, making unpacking much easier.

Create a Moving Checklist

Organisation is crucial when moving house. Create a detailed checklist of all the tasks you need to complete before, during, and after the move. This should include notifying your utility providers, changing your address with banks and other institutions, and booking a removal company. Having a list will ensure you don’t forget anything important and can help to manage your time effectively.

Photo by Volodymyr Hryshchenko on Unsplash

Pack an Essentials Box

An essentials box should contain everything you’ll need for the first night in your new home, so you don’t have to rummage through boxes after a long day of moving. Include items like toiletries, a change of clothes, snacks, and basic kitchen utensils. Don’t forget to include important documents, chargers, and perhaps a few treats to help you relax.

Take Care of Utilities and Services

Arrange the transfer of your utility services—such as water, electricity, and internet—to your new address. Doing this in advance can ensure that everything is up and running when you arrive. It’s also a good idea to take meter readings at your old and new homes to ensure you’re correctly billed.

Plan for Pets and Children

Moving can be particularly disorienting for pets and children. Arrange for them to stay with family or friends on moving day if possible. If that’s not an option, make sure they have a safe, quiet space to retreat to, away from the chaos of the move. For pets, ensure their microchip details are updated with your new address.

Get to Know Your New Area

Before you move, spend some time getting to know your new area. Look for local amenities, such as shops, parks, and schools, and familiarise yourself with the local community. This can help you feel settled more quickly once you move.

The Family Adventure Guide: Educational Games for Outdoor Learning

March 11, 2024 · by munchiesandmunchkins · 1 Comment

Outdoor learning offers a unique opportunity for children to explore the world around them, engaging all their senses in a way that indoor education simply cannot match. It’s a chance to connect with nature, develop physical skills, and foster curiosity about the environment and its myriad inhabitants. For families, these adventures become memorable experiences that reinforce bonds and encourage a lifelong love of discovery.

Introducing your children to the great outdoors broadens their understanding of the world and enhances their problem-solving abilities, creativity, and well-being. Whether it’s a local park, the countryside, or your own backyard, every outdoor space holds endless possibilities for learning and fun.

Kickstarting Adventure with Educational Games

Selecting the perfect educational games for your family outing can be as exciting as the adventure. Consider games that not only entertain but also stimulate curiosity and learning. Look for activities that are versatile, easy to carry, and suitable for the various environments you’ll encounter. Whether it’s a card game that challenges memory skills or a portable puzzle that teaches problem-solving, the key is to choose games that will keep your children engaged and eager to learn more.

Tailoring the games to your children’s ages and interests is also important. Younger children might enjoy simple matching games that help with colour and shape recognition, while older kids could be challenged by more complex strategy games that encourage critical thinking. By selecting the right games, you’re making the trip more enjoyable and turning every moment into an opportunity for learning and growth.

Using Nature’s Classroom

Introducing children to the diversity of wildlife and plants during outdoor excursions is a wonderful way to cultivate their interest in the natural world. Using flashcards, such as those from Happy Little Doers, can make this educational experience fun and impactful. These flashcards are designed to capture the attention of young minds, offering a visual and tactile way to learn about the environment around them.

Carry a set of these flashcards on your walks through the countryside or visits to the park, and encourage your children to match the cards with real-life sightings. This interactive activity enhances their observational skills and deepens their appreciation for nature’s variety. It’s a simple yet effective method to bring textbook knowledge to life, making learning about biology and ecology an engaging, hands-on experience.

Treasure Hunts and Nature Trails

Organising a treasure hunt or following a nature trail can turn a regular outdoor walk into an exciting exploration. These activities are brilliant for teaching children about geography and orientation in an interactive manner. Children learn to navigate and understand their surroundings by using maps or creating their own, developing spatial awareness and problem-solving skills.

Treasure hunts can be themed around natural features, historical landmarks, or even local flora and fauna, making every find a lesson. Encourage your children to read the map, follow clues, and work together to find the next point. This makes for a thrilling adventure and instils in them a sense of accomplishment and teamwork. Through these guided explorations, your family’s outdoor excursions become enriched with learning opportunities at every turn.

The key to a successful educational adventure is making learning fun and engaging. As you plan your next family outing, consider incorporating these activities to create memorable learning experiences. Your efforts will enhance your children’s knowledge and skills and instil in them a lifelong love for exploration and discovery.

Mothering Sunday Gift Guide 2024

March 6, 2024 · by munchiesandmunchkins · Leave a Comment

Mothering Sunday is almost upon us so I’ve put together a small selection of gifts you may like to treat your mum to or things I’d kinda like myself! Some items were gifted and some are just items I love.

1. Plants – You can’t go too far wrong with a plant. Flowers die quickly but plants given the right care can last for years. I’ve become a real plant obsessed human lately and I recently got a monstera which I’ve wanted for agessss.

2. Tennis HQ have some great items for any sport lovers or even if you just like the gear. I adore these tennis trainers, all of my favourite colours and so unbelievably comfy.

3. New bedding! I have a full review coming up of the Simba bedding set but new bedding is always always a winner. I’ve been loving the Simba hybrid duvet along with the performance bedding – literally feels like I’m wrapped up in a marshmallow.

4. Skincare. I love to try new products and the older ( and more tired ) I get the more I seem to need a variety of products. Skin Doctors have you covered with the whole routine. I’ve been trying out this skinactive set and loving the results so far.

5. Sweet tooth? Perhaps you fancy ordering some chocs? Bjorn By Nordik have the most incredible hand made treats, I haven’t tried as yet but I’m drooling every time I see a post.

Left it to last minute? If you are really stuck and time is running out don’t forget your local restaurants and leisure facilities, you could grab a voucher and feel good about supporting you local businesses.

* As stated some items were gifted for the purpose of this guide.
