Christmas Presents for 1 Year Plus…

December 8, 2014 · by munchiesandmunchkins · 12 Comments

Buying for a 1 year old can be awkward. They can’t actually tell you what they want or like and they are just as likely to be excited by the box the toy it arrives in as by the toy itself.

For this reason I would say there is absolutely no need to spend more than about £30.

Here are a range of gifts from stocking fillers to main gifts all at a reasonable price:

Items under £10:

Kiddicare have some great offers in their Buzzing Brains collection including this Pull Along Dog for just £3.99

And this soft Learn To Dress Ella doll which is just £3.50 at the moment:

Items under £15
Plush talking toys such as this Peter Rabbit will go down well. Especially if they have an older sister who is obsessed with the TV show.

These bath toys from Munchkin are great for both toddlers and older children, the tea set in particular would be fab for younger and older siblings to play together.

Items under £20

Crayola My First Doodle Mat – all the fun of drawing and colouring without ANY of the mess, this genius product from Crayola was adored by my eldest from age 1-3.

Maybe the parents of the child you are buying for have asked for NO MORE TOYS. I know we have had to do this once or twice and for this age group the item I suggest the most as a gift for the parents and the child ( ok maybe not the child) is a safety gate. Lindam have a massive range of gates to suit all needs including this rather stylish one:

Travel Essentials from Munchkin

October 20, 2014 · by munchiesandmunchkins · 1 Comment

We received a hamper of goodies from Munchkin as part of our blog ambassador role for them. The theme of the hamper was travel.

All of the products we received were made to make the lives of parents easier when out and about, perhaps just for the day or on a holiday. I’m going to tell you about some of our favourites which would be ideal for you to take on your next break – perhaps in the half term holidays?

Our favourite product by far was the booster seat. Izzy always likes to sit on a big girl chair now rather than a high chair but she struggles to reach things on the table and this makes it so much easier and comfortable for her. Within 30 minutes of it arriving she was sat on it at the table doing some crafting and she’s in love. It’s made eating our family meals at the table a much happier occasion as she is strapped in which leads to less walkabouts. I highly recommend this. In fact it’s a product we use at least once a day whether it be for Playdoh fun at the table or eating a bowl of stew with her little sis in the high chair. Oh did I mention it turns into a handy bag which you can take out and about and fill with nappies, wipes etc. Its brilliant.

We love the bib and spoon travel pouch which can be hung off a pram or popped in a bag and Chloe really loves this teether monkey toy which is a soft in parts, textured in others and chewable too. She used to have it on her baby gym and now it’s an everyday fixture on her buggy:

I’ve never had a bad experience with a product from Munchkin and we have tried a LOT of them and it’s a brand I really trust and can recommend wholeheartedly.

Life Is A Picnic..Munchkin Review

July 9, 2014 · by munchiesandmunchkins · Leave a Comment

We are really enjoying our roles as blog ambassadors for Munchkin UK, not only are the team we work with really lovely but we already adore the brand so it’s really easy to chat about them and rave to you about how good they are.

Last week we received a picnic hamper full of goodies to enjoy over these summer days and what a lovely hamper it was.

Some of the products we already know and love like their divider plates and beakers but some were new to us like the bento style lunch box – I want an adult version please!

The mesh feeder is great to give Chloe chunks of frozen fruit to gnaw on without the worries of her choking on a lump of it.

The toddler snack grab pot is really useful and Izzy loves to use it for blueberries and rice cakes!

The spoons in funky bright colours are really easy to feed Chloe with and long enough that you don’t get baby food all over your hands. They are also quite chewy so she likes to chomp on them once she’s done with her meal.

The wipe down, crumb catcher bibs are a huge hit with both of them. Izzy doesn’t like to wear bibs anymore as she’s nearly 3 don’t ya know but she is a fan of these.. Maybe the bright colours or the large neck so it doesn’t rub.. I’m not sure but I’m glad.

And most useful product of the lot are the bowls with lids which come everywhere with us!

Here are some pics of us enjoying backyard and park picnics with our goodies:

Lindam Munchkin Fun

June 4, 2014 · by munchiesandmunchkins · Leave a Comment

In March we went to an event with Lindam Munchkin as part of our role on the blogger panel. We were given lots of goodies to take home and I just wanted to tell you about them, although we weren’t actually asked to review as both girls have really enjoyed them.

We had a haul of bath bits. Now I will be honest and tell you I’m not a fan of bath toys. My daughters love them but as I really like a nice soak in the tub and I hate all the plastic clutter which is always in my way. Obviously I tolerate them as I’m a mum and that’s what we do.

But these I don’t mind at all.

Munchkin Heat Sensing Grippy Dots

In fact they brighten up the bathroom, Izzy likes to stick them in various places around the bath and I’m surprised at how long they can keep her occupied. All her other toys I scoop into a box or jug when she’s finished but these are always left in the bath as they don’t get in my way. As a bonus they tell you if your little ones bath is too hot and of course they are great for using as grippers to stop them slipping.

We also had the Owl light my way nightlifes from Lindam:

These owl night lights are massively cute. Both Izzy and Chloe have one and they are equally fascinated. We plan to take them with us to the festivals we go to this summer as they are ideal for carrying around being both lightweight and battery operated.

We have also been using these divided plates from Munchkin:

Izzy loves having her food in sections and somehow it seems to help her eat more than if I just pile it all in a bowl.

We are also in the process of replacing all of our safety latches etc around the home thanks to Lindam and their excellent range of products. With two small children around its impossible to have both eyes in both of them all day long so our home needs to be as safe as safe can be. Cue extra gates, corner covers etc.

Check out Lindam and Munchkin for more products.

Meeting With The Munch Brunch

March 31, 2014 · by munchiesandmunchkins · Leave a Comment

Myself and Chloe went on an exciting trip to London last week. My mum joined us for the ride and it was really nice to get away and see some of the sights.

Chloe snoozed for most of our walk.

20140331-112057.jpg

We were invited by Lindam Munchkin for a launch event in a fabulous little spot called The White Space in Leicester Sq. The event was a brunch hence the hashtag #munchbrunch.

20140331-111734.jpg

The table was laid out with some fabulous Munchkin dining kit and there were Lindam gates up to keep the little ones in and Lindam nightlight owls to light the way.. They are massively cute by the way.

The event was a bit different to any of the blogger events I’ve attended so far, it was really relaxed and informal. All of the products were displayed around the room for us to have a play with and we spent most of the time chatting.

I met some really lovely bloggers and the PR ladies as well as the staff from Lindam Munchkin and it as great to put faces to names. Chloe spent 90% of the time beaming at everyone – one fellow blogger commented afterwards that she was like an advert for happiness – how lovely is that?

Interested in the ducks..

Which are clever ducks by the way.. They can tell you if the bath water is too hot:

Thanks to Lindam Munchkin for inviting us to this lovely brunch, we all enjoyed and Izzy was thrilled with her goodies when I returned. She hasn’t let go of her little owl much and she is loving her new Minnie Mouse plates and cups.

We are looking forward to trying out lots of Munchkin and Lindam products over the next 12 months and letting you know what we think as well as keeping you up to date with their latest news.
