Bettering Your Child’s Education Is Possible

December 21, 2023 · by munchiesandmunchkins · Leave a Comment

Are you concerned that your child isn’t receiving the best education? Don’t panic, as there are ways you can intervene to guarantee they are getting the best education possible.

Using this guide, you can find the best tips to better your child’s education.

Respect the teacher

It will go a long way if you respect your children’s teachers. Teacher appreciation day is a great way to celebrate and reward all that teachers do. You can give them a nice gift and personally thank them for what they’ve done.

A small gesture can go a long way in how respected they feel. It will also encourage them to do more for your children’s education, allowing your child to get the best education possible.

Boosting your child’s confidence

It is good to boost your child’s confidence at school. This will help them feel more comfortable in lessons and understand they are capable of learning and improving.

You can do this by encouraging positive self-talk and celebrating small achievements. When they do well on a test, celebrate with them. Encourage them to be proud and speak loud about what they are capable of.

Create a supportive home environment

Creating an environment that is conducive to good learning is paramount. Have a special quiet place where your child can study without distractions. Encourage open conversation about school life and take time to show a real interest in your child’s school work and projects.

Foster a love for reading

Having a wide variety of books at home is associated with higher levels of reading achievement. This is not only for informational and educational writing but also includes stories, novels, and poetry. The books should be suitable for your child’s age level and have readable text. Make time every day for family reading, whether aloud or silent. This can lead your child to discover that reading is a source of enjoyment when they see you also reading with enthusiasm.

Encourage curiosity and question asking

Your child is loaded with natural and powerful curiosity about the world around them. Encourage your youngster to ask questions and investigate ideas they are interested in. Be a participant with them in discussions and show how you, too, are curious about things and like to discover new information. This strategy enhances your child’s critical thinking so that they will even question what you have to say!

Communicate with the teachers

You must have good lines of communication with your child’s teachers. You should meet with your child’s teacher regularly so that you get to know him or her and find out what your child’s progress is. Attending parent-teacher conferences is just one way to get involved in their schooling. At these times, ask about their talents and weak areas and whether they are working to the best of their ability.
Using this guide, you can discover the best ways to improve your child’s education. They can feel more confident and guarantee to get more from school. They can leave each day having learned more, which will improve their knowledge. Helping your child do well at school is wise for their future.

Personalising Gift-Giving: Taking a Thoughtful Approach

December 20, 2023 · by munchiesandmunchkins · 1 Comment

Giving gifts is an enduring tradition across cultures and time, yet choosing between all of the options can often feel frustrating. This blog post will guide you in creating thoughtful, bespoke presents which touch hearts in meaningful ways.

Photo by Samuel Holt on Unsplash

The Power of Personalised Gifts

Personalised gifts hold a special appeal, creating an emotional bond between giver and receiver. More than mere objects, personalised presents convey stories, emotions, and personal touches that mass-produced goods often lack. By giving personalised presents you are saying: “I have put thought and effort into this unique item designed just for you.” Such gestures of thoughtfulness often strengthen bonds between individuals while creating lasting memories – whether it’s jewellery that’s hand engraved with someone special’s initials, monogrammed towel sets with initials on or book signed by their favourite author with handwritten inscription – personalised presents show that recipients they are valued and treasured!

Personalised Gifts for Any Occasion

Selecting the ideal personalised present depends heavily on the occasion. Birthdays might call for something unique like custom jewellery or monogrammed wallets with initials or dates engraved into them. An anniversary could warrant something romantic like an anniversary star map commemorating that first night sky experience. Retirements should feature something like a personalised watch bearing an engraving that represents their years of service. Baby showers could include personalised storybooks for little ones. A personalised eye mask could make a great present for someone struggling to sleep, while a personalised apron or cutting board would make an excellent housewarming present. Another standout choice is kitchenware tailored for the culinary enthusiast or anyone who enjoys the art of cooking. A set of metal chopsticks engraved with initials, for example, combines functionality with a personal touch, making it an excellent gift for those who appreciate Asian cuisine or enjoy the elegance of a beautifully set table.

The possibilities are numerous and varied; all you need to remember is choosing something not only personalised but relevant and meaningful when selecting something meaningful!

Creating Personalised Gifts

Customising gifts can be a rewarding creative outlet that unleashes your imagination. Many online platforms provide services for customising products ranging from custom jewellery, all the way through to monogrammed stationery. Simply choose an item, choose how you’d like your personalization done (this could include names, dates, quotes or special messages) and place your order online or craft personalised gifts at home yourself! Handcrafted gifts made using embroidery, calligraphy, painting or woodworking can make for truly memorable and personalised presents. Handmade personalised presents often carry additional layers of sentiment thanks to your time and effort in their creation. Regardless of which medium or process is chosen, the goal should always be something which reflects their recipient’s personality, taste and strengthens your bond with them.

Red Flags to Consider When Personalising Gifts

While personalising presents is an act of thoughtfulness, there are some potential pitfalls you should be wary of when personalising them. Make sure your recipient will appreciate any personal or sensitive themes before creating one for them. Personalising too deeply may feel intrusive and awkward, such as using jokes or references only you are privy to, which makes the gift less enjoyable for its recipient. Remember the recipient’s personal style and preferences; just because something speaks to you doesn’t guarantee they will. Gifts should celebrate individuality rather than giver-statism. Before placing your order, double-check all customization details. A misspelt name or date could turn a thoughtful present into an embarrassing faux pas!

Conclusion

In today’s world of material items that are often gifted and received without much thought or consideration, personalised gifts can make a remarkable impactful statement of thoughtfulness and effort that went into their selection and preparation. A personalised present not only conveys that thought and effort that went into its selection and preparation but also serves to show someone they are unique and special; creating the feeling of truly cherishing someone special! So the next time you plan a gift consider customising it; your loved one will thank you with their smile of joy!

Enhancing Your Child’s Educational Journey

December 18, 2023 · by munchiesandmunchkins · Leave a Comment

Education plays a pivotal role in shaping a child’s future, and as a parent, you naturally want to give your child every possible advantage in their educational journey. While every child’s learning style and needs are unique, there are several universal strategies you can employ to support their academic growth. This comprehensive guide will delve into practical and effective ways to enhance your child’s education, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.

Creating a Conducive Learning Environment at Home

The foundation of a child’s educational success often starts at home. Creating a conducive learning environment goes beyond just having a quiet study space. It encompasses fostering an atmosphere where curiosity is encouraged and learning is seen as a positive and enjoyable pursuit. Ensure that your child has a designated area for studying that is free of distractions and comfortable. This space should be equipped with the necessary supplies and resources, like books, educational materials, and access to a computer or tablet for research.

In addition to physical space, the home environment should be emotionally supportive. Encourage open discussions about what they are learning, listen to their academic challenges, and celebrate their achievements, no matter how small. This supportive atmosphere can significantly enhance their motivation and love for learning.

Engaging in Their Academic Life

Active parental engagement in a child’s education can significantly impact their academic success. Attend parent-teacher meetings, stay in touch with their teachers, and keep abreast of school happenings. This involvement shows your child that you value their education and are invested in their progress.

Beyond school involvement, engage with your child’s learning at home. Discuss what they learned at school, help with homework when necessary, and provide additional learning resources or activities related to their interests and curriculum. These interactions not only reinforce school learning but also provide opportunities for bonding and understanding your child’s academic strengths and areas that may need extra attention.

Fostering a Love for Reading and Learning

Developing a love for reading is one of the most significant gifts you can give your child. Reading enhances vocabulary, improves concentration, and stimulates imagination and creativity. Encourage reading from a young age by having a variety of books available at home. Make reading a regular part of your daily routine, whether it’s a bedtime story for younger children or dedicated quiet reading time for older ones.

Apart from reading, cultivate an overall love for learning by exploring different subjects and activities. Museums, science centres, and cultural events can be fun and educational experiences. Encourage your child to ask questions and seek answers, turning everyday moments into learning opportunities.

Utilising Technology and Educational Resources

In today’s digital age, technology plays a significant role in education. Utilise educational apps, online resources, and interactive games to make learning fun and engaging. These tools can provide personalized learning experiences and allow children to explore subjects more deeply at their own pace. However, it’s crucial to balance screen time with offline activities and ensure that the digital content is age-appropriate and educational.

Additionally, various educational resources like Gerrards Cross 11 Plus tuition can supplement your child’s learning. Libraries, educational websites, tutoring services, and extracurricular classes in areas like art, music, or coding can broaden their knowledge and skills.

Encouraging Independence and Critical Thinking

While it’s important to be involved in your child’s education, it’s equally crucial to encourage independence and critical thinking. Allow your child to take responsibility for their homework and projects, offering guidance rather than solutions. Teach them how to research, analyse information, and think critically. These skills are vital for academic success and will serve them well throughout their lives.

Encourage them to set goals, manage their time effectively, and develop problem-solving skills. When faced with a challenge, guide them through the process of finding a solution rather than immediately stepping in. This approach fosters resilience, independence, and confidence in their abilities.

Promoting a Balanced Lifestyle

Academic success is not solely about intellectual growth; physical, emotional, and social development are equally important. Ensure your child has a balanced lifestyle that includes physical activity, hobbies, and social interactions with peers. Physical activities like sports or dance can improve concentration, reduce stress, and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Emotional well-being is also crucial. Teach your child to manage stress, express their emotions healthily, and practice self-care. Social skills like teamwork, empathy, and communication are learned through interactions with family and peers and are essential for personal and academic success.

Continuous Learning and Adaptation

Finally, remember that education is a dynamic process. Be open to adapting your strategies as your child grows and their needs change. Stay informed about educational trends and new learning methods. Attend workshops or seminars on parenting and education, if possible, to gather fresh ideas and perspectives.

Be mindful of your child’s feedback and adjust your approach accordingly. Some strategies may work better than others, and what works for one child may not work for another. The key is to stay flexible, patient, and supportive, providing a stable foundation upon which your child can build their educational success.

Supporting Emotional Intelligence and Social Skills Development

In addition to academic skills, developing emotional intelligence and social skills is crucial for a well-rounded education. Emotional intelligence involves the ability to understand, use, and manage one’s own emotions in positive ways. This skill set includes self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills – all of which are vital for personal and professional success.

Start by being a role model for emotional intelligence. Demonstrate how to express emotions appropriately, handle stress, and empathise with others. Encourage your child to talk about their feelings and validate them, showing that it’s okay to feel and express a range of emotions. This open communication builds trust and helps your child develop self-awareness and emotional regulation.

Teaching empathy is another critical aspect of emotional intelligence. Help your child understand and appreciate different perspectives. This can be as simple as discussing characters in a storybook or as involved as participating in community service activities. Learning to recognize and respond to others’ feelings fosters empathy and enhances social interactions.

In conclusion, giving your child a leg up in their education involves a combination of providing a supportive home environment, engaging in their academic life, fostering a love for learning, utilising technology wisely, encouraging independence, promoting a balanced lifestyle, and being open to continuous learning and adaptation. By implementing these strategies, you can help your child develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to thrive academically and beyond.

5 Tips to Instantly Spruce Up Your Patio

December 13, 2023 · by munchiesandmunchkins · Leave a Comment

A well-maintained patio is not only an extension of your living space but also a place to relax and entertain guests. Whether you have a small balcony or a spacious outdoor area, there are several easy and effective ways to instantly spruce up your patio and transform it into a cozy and inviting retreat. Here are five tips to help you achieve a more appealing outdoor space:

Clean and Declutter

Before you embark on any patio enhancement project, start by thoroughly cleaning and decluttering the area. Remove dirt, dust, fallen leaves, and any debris that may have accumulated over time. Sweep or power wash the surface, clean the furniture, and wipe down any surfaces.

Decluttering is equally important. Remove any unused or worn-out items, such as broken pots, old furniture, or faded cushions. By decluttering and cleaning, you’ll create a clean slate to work with and make your patio look instantly more inviting.

Invest in Outdoor Shade Blinds

Outdoor shade blinds are a versatile and practical addition to any outdoor space. These blinds provide effective protection from the harsh sun, wind, and rain, allowing you to enjoy your patio, deck, or veranda year-round. With various materials and designs to choose from, outdoor shade blinds offer flexibility in controlling the amount of light and privacy you desire, making them ideal for creating comfortable and inviting outdoor environments. Whether you’re looking to create a cozy outdoor dining area or a shaded oasis for relaxation, outdoor shade blinds are a stylish and functional solution that adds both comfort and aesthetic appeal to your outdoor living space.

Upgrade Your Patio Furniture

Your choice of patio furniture can make a significant impact on the overall appearance and comfort of your outdoor space. If your current furniture is outdated, uncomfortable, or in poor condition, consider upgrading to pieces that better suit your style and needs.

Invest in quality outdoor furniture that can withstand the elements and provide comfort. Popular options include durable resin wicker or metal frames with weather-resistant cushions. Additionally, consider adding functional pieces like a dining table, lounge chairs, or a hammock to accommodate different activities and relaxation needs.

Add Cozy Outdoor Fabrics

Enhance the comfort and style of your patio by incorporating outdoor fabrics. Outdoor cushions, pillows, and rugs can add color, texture, and a sense of coziness to your outdoor space. Opt for fabrics designed specifically for outdoor use, as they are made to resist fading and moisture.

Choose a color scheme or pattern that complements your patio’s overall design and the surrounding environment. Mixing and matching pillows and cushions can also add a touch of personality and create a warm, inviting atmosphere. Don’t forget to invest in waterproof storage solutions to keep your cushions and pillows protected during wet weather.

Incorporate Lighting

Proper outdoor lighting can transform your patio into an enchanting oasis, extending your enjoyment well into the evening. There are various lighting options to choose from, depending on your style and preferences. Here are a few ideas:

  • String Lights: String lights are a popular and cost-effective choice for adding ambiance. Hang them above your patio or drape them along the railing to create a warm, romantic glow.
  • Solar-Powered Lights: Solar-powered lights are eco-friendly and easy to install. They come in various styles, including path lights, lanterns, and stake lights, which can illuminate your garden or walkways.
  • Wall Sconces: Wall-mounted sconces can provide both decorative and functional lighting. They can be positioned near seating areas or doorways to enhance safety and aesthetics.
  • Candle Lanterns: Candle lanterns can add a touch of rustic charm and a flickering, warm glow. Place them on tables or hang them from hooks for a magical evening ambiance.

Incorporate Plants and Greenery

Bringing nature into your patio space is an excellent way to instantly spruce it up. Plants and greenery can add color, freshness, and a sense of tranquility. Here are some plant-related ideas to consider:

  • Container Gardens: Create a container garden with a variety of potted plants, flowers, and herbs. You can choose different sizes and shapes of containers to fit your patio’s style.
  • Vertical Gardens: Vertical gardens or living walls are a space-saving way to introduce lush greenery to your patio. Install planters or pockets on walls or fences and grow a variety of plants vertically.
  • Hanging Planters: Hang planters with cascading or trailing plants from the ceiling or railings. This adds visual interest and a dynamic touch to your patio’s design.
  • Trees and Shrubs: If you have ample space, consider planting small trees or shrubs in large pots or directly in the ground to create a more secluded and private feel.

In conclusion, sprucing up your patio can be a rewarding and enjoyable project that transforms your outdoor space into a welcoming and functional area for relaxation and entertainment. By following these five tips, you can create an inviting patio that reflects your style, enhances your outdoor living experience, and makes you eager to spend more time outside enjoying the fresh air and beautiful surroundings.

Seven Ways To Treat And Prioritise Yourself

December 11, 2023 · by munchiesandmunchkins · 1 Comment

If there’s anything that you should change in your life, it’s the amount of time and love you invest in yourself. It’s typical that many people will choose to prioritise others, rather than themselves, perhaps out of fear that they’re being selfish as a result.

It’s therefore important that you make time for yourself and that you find the things in life that bring you joy. After all, life is too short, right?

There are several ways in which to treat and prioritise yourself, many of which might be unique to you. However, here are seven ways to treat and prioritise your needs.

  1. Slow down with a better work-life balance

It’s very easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, especially when it comes to work. Therefore, it’s necessary to look at ways in which you can balance your life outside of work. Are there ways to lighten the load of your workload at work? Perhaps you can talk to your manager or boss to work from home a number of days a week?

Think about slowing down so that you can get a better work-life balance. Even those who are workaholics need to take a day off.

If you’re struggling to attain any sort of balance right now, it’s worth questioning why that might be. It could be that the job itself isn’t allowing you to balance life outside of work and so it could be that you need to question if it’s really worth continuing in your career or job in particular.

  1. Manage your usage of social media

Social media is a wonderful tool for many. Whether that’s using it for work or for connecting with friends and family all over the world.

Managing your usage of social media is important because for many it can also be a toxic environment. While it’s something you can step away from, it can have a habit of dragging you back in.

Remember, you only see a snippet of someone’s life on social media, and in terms of what you see, it might not always be accurate to real life.

  1. Give yourself a full night’s sleep every night

Staying healthy is imperative and it’s something that’s necessary to living a long life – hopefully! With that being said, you should try not to compromise on things that are keeping you alive and well.

Sleep is one of those things and many are quick to sacrifice it. As a result, the nine hours of recommended sleep end up being a fraction of that for many people. While you might be thinking you’re getting more out of life, you’re doing more damage to yourself.

A lack of sleep means that your body isn’t recovering properly. That means you’re going to be more susceptible to falling ill. With that in mind, think about how you can up your hours and if you struggle to sleep, find ways to get more shut eye.

This might be wearing an eye mask at night to help keep the light out. It could be playing white noise or spa sounds to help relax and unwind.

  1. Treat yourself once a day

Treating yourself is highly important. At the end of the day, the only person that you truly have is yourself. That means advocating for yourself and more importantly, looking after your well-being!

If you’re able to treat yourself once a day, you’re going to feel better for it as a result. It could be going to a piercing shop and getting your very first piercing. It might not be that piercings are your thing and it’s something as simple as treating yourself to a coffee on your morning commute.

Anything that you can do to treat yourself once a day, is a great way to help get more out of life every day. Those treats don’t always need to be huge financial spends and can be something that doesn’t even cost a penny.

  1. Learn to say no

Many people have a habit of saying yes very easily but have a much harder time saying no. It can often be the case that saying no is a lot more difficult. Whether it’s being told by your supervisor to take on more work that will ultimately cause you stress, to saying yes to going out and socialising, when you’d rather stay home that night.

With that being said, try to find the courage to say no more. You don’t even need to justify your reasoning either. Be strong in your decision-making and say no when you’re potentially compromising your happiness and well-being by saying yes.

  1. Spend more time learning about yourself

Spending time on yourself is important because it’s time that’s well spent. It’s difficult to find the time, even though we have a full twenty-four hours a day that can be taken advantage of.

Think about how you can spend more time on yourself and more importantly, learn about yourself. Before you can give all of your time and energy to others, you should be focusing on yourself first and foremost.

Learning about yourself can be inspiring and it can really put you in a healthy place. For example, if you’re looking for a relationship, then it’s good to spend the time and investment on yourself first so that you know who you are looking for and what you deserve in another person.

  1. Eat well

Eating well is essential when it comes to treating and prioritising yourself. Eating well isn’t just about eating healthy foods, it’s about nourishing your body with what you want and need.

Just because doughnuts are considered ‘unhealthy’ doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself. Rather than restricting certain foods, just eat in moderation instead. That’s a great way to have a healthy relationship with food now and going forward.

Hopefully, these tips are a great starting point when it comes to treating and prioritising yourself this year. Put yourself first and do what brings you joy in life, rather than anything negative.

Easing Yourself Into The Unpredictability Of Parenthood

December 8, 2023 · by munchiesandmunchkins · Leave a Comment

Pexels – CC0 License

It’s hard to think of a role in life more important than being a parent. Of course, not everyone is or will be a parent, and that’s absolutely fine. Those who are, however, understand how important the role is. While not all step up to the plate, those that do find themselves with perhaps one of the toughest, but most rewarding tasks on the planet. Unfortunately, not every situation is as streamlined or smooth-sailing as it should be.

In some cases, parenthood and easing yourself in as a new mother or father can be more difficult than you had expected. Certain difficulties can exist, but can be worked through. What matters is learning not to neglect yourself as you look after your little bundle of joy, and seeking support where you need it.

In this post, we’ll discuss a few difficulties you may experience and how to seek a resolution. We also hope to share some warm words that parents can take refuge in, no matter how difficult your situation could seem right now.

Without further ado, please consider the following advice:

Managing Unexpected Outcomes

It’s important to be clear-eyed and focused on any health issues or developmental problems your infant might have. You can work closely with your midwife and paediatrician to ensure those are correctly evaluated and treated. Unfortunately, it’s also true that some issues aren’t just detailed, but born from negligence. In this case, using services such as the best birth injury law firm can help you seek the closure you need, and the compensation you deserve.

Self-Care & Requesting Help

It’s important to be clear about the help you might need and to mention if you’ve been struggling with self-care strategies. If you’ve noticed post-birth signs of depression, for example, this needs to be looked at because you may not find yourself in a place to correctly handle such a difficult condition while you have a baby to take care of.

General self-care, of course, is essential too, such as catching up on your sleep when you can (during a baby’s nap can be worthwhile), being honest about your staggered return to work, and using resources you may need, such as income support where available. All of this counts to keep you more robust and together day after day.

Learning To Trust Your Parenting Instincts

It’s very easy to second-guess yourself as a new parent, for obvious reasons. You don’t want to make a mistake. But it’s true that parenting books and online advice can only get you so far. Observing your baby and finding the slight difference of cry between being hungry and needing to be burped, learning how to rock them to sleep while singing to them, and little measures, like always closing the door to prevent your cat from even having the chance of jumping into their cot with them, can all be appropriate. Be mindful, and trust yourself. You’ve got this.

With this advice, we hope you can more easily jump into the unpredictability of parenthood, as strange as such an approach can seem.

First, you might want to think about being more spiritual. For instance, you could consider reading verses from the Bible. Or, you may just want to go caroling. Christmas bible verses available here are a great way to get back in touch with the true meaning of the holiday season.

You could even think about going to church. You might not be religious. However, you’ll still be welcome here, particularly if you are struggling to find joy this year.

Listen To Music

Are you the type to love festive tunes? It’s time to break them out again and start singing along in the car on the way to work in the morning. Or, when you’re wandering around in your kitchen and making dinner or a snack, belting out the Christmas tunes can be therapeutic in itself. It’s a great way to get yourself in the Christmas mood without having to leave the comfort of your own house.

Make yourself a festive playlist on your music app, or go to YouTube and find one that has already been premade. Dance around, and feel Christmas pouring into your soul from the festive songs surrounding you.

Once you have a playlist, you’ll be able to listen to it whenever you need a little uptick.

Watch Some Movies

Next up, if you are trying to feel festive then there is nothing better than putting on some Christmas movies. There are many to choose from so you could start on the 1st December and go all the way through the month. You might find if you have a smart TV that you have a film advent calendar on your home page. If not, there are great DVDs and streaming sites that have all the best Christmas movies to watch. For instance, you can watch old school movies such as Home Alone or a newer classic such as Holidate.

Address What’s Wrong

Finally, if you are not feeling particularly festive then there may be a deeper-rooted issue affecting your Christmas spirit. For instance, you may have lost a close family member that loved Christmas so you just can’t get into the spirit of things. If this is the case then it may be worthwhile contacting a counselor or therapist. They will listen to any and all of your woes regarding your feelings and hopefully this will help you overcome your problems. Don’t pressure yourself into getting into the Christmas spirit, think of yourself first.

So there you have it, these are some of the things that you can do to get yourself into the festive spirit! There are, of course, more things that you can try if none of these light that Christmas spirit inside you, but they are a great place to start. Have a great Christmas everyone.

Christmas Gift Guide 2023

December 4, 2023 · by munchiesandmunchkins · 3 Comments

*Some items have been gifted and I’ve enjoyed them so am sharing with you others are brands or products I already love or fancy trying.

Yep it’s that time again and nope I am in no way ready for it. But still here we are..here are a few items which should be sneaking onto your Christmas list. I’ll be adding some more over the next weeks including some last minute items for those of you who like to live on the edge ..or get paid closer to Christmas!

Joe & Sephs are a favourite of ours all year around, not just at Christmas. They have the most indulgent popcorn treats and this festive period is no exception. We received some delicious items to try including these popcorn stars:

eFlorist have a vast array of beautiful bouquets for all occasions and their Christmas selection are stunning! There is something to suit most budgets so go take a look..

Nomo have got you covered if you have dietary requirements or allergies or are looking to find gifts for someone who does. They have a variety of delicious products from adorable stocking fillers to gift boxes such as this caramel sharing box:

Seams is a hard working hand cream with a luxury feel, it arrives in a beautiful gift bag and smells amazing. Crafted with 10 natural ingredients to help Mend, Moisturise, Soften, Soothe, Nourish, Hydrate, Protect & Anti-Age Hands, Fade Age spots and Condition Nails, fast! A Biomimetic Lipid Complex helps to lock in moisture and enhance the skin barrier.

Looking forward to trying this!

A book which could actually transform your life and home? Sounds too good to be true but I’ve really enjoyed reading The Secret Life of Clutter written by Helen Sanderson

Our homes have fascinating stories to tell. The spaces we inhabit and the objects within them reflect many aspects of our lives and our inner selves. In The Secret Life of Clutter, ten intimate and touching stories take you on a profound journey as people discover what their cluttered homes reveal about their lives, and make life-changing shifts when they start to let go and move on. Helen Sanderson

Caru is an amazing Welsh brandy liqueur which we love. It comes in a stylish presentation box and is the perfect gift for those who love a tasty tipple rather than just a pint at the local. Would be a perfect addition to a luxury hamper and they also have a gift set available if you want something ready to go.

Another plant based sweet offering from Love Raw with these nutty chocolate balls. The creators of Love Raw started their brand with one aim: Make legendary vegan chocolate that tastes like chocolate chocolate!!

FurnishMe is a local furniture store which is run by the very lovely and fellow plant obsessed Faye and ( not so plant obsessed )Matthew, it’s a family business with clear family values and their customer reviews alone attest to that. I am hoping to go there in the New Year and get some new pieces to restyle our home! At the moment I love this table and about a million other things they have in stock!

The Preservation Society is a Welsh company run by Angharad, I have followed Angharad on social media for many years and have met her a few times at food markets and similar. She’s a fab woman with an amazing business to boot. Her candied jalapeños are something special as are most of her products so get over there and have a browse. She also runs jam making courses if you fancy giving something a bit different as a Christmas present this year.

Now these products from Bjorn by Nordik look pretty special.

I have not yet tried them myself but may have to indulge at some point soon, every time anything from Chef Shane Nilsson pops up on my Instagram feed it makes me drool and his luxury chocolates look delectable. Pop over to his Etsy store to check them out yourself.
